About SoldPrice & the data

SoldPrice makes the official Irish residential property price register searchable, readable and useful, for anyone curious what homes near them really sold for.

Where the numbers come from

Every figure on SoldPrice comes from the Residential Property Price Register, published by the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA) under the Property Services (Regulation) Act 2011. It records the date, address, county and price of every residential property sold in Ireland since the start of 2010: 794,074 sales and counting.

These are completed sales filed for stamp duty, not asking prices or estimates. Where a sale was marked as not a full-market transaction (for example a transfer between family members), we flag it so it does not mislead the medians.

How we present it

We group sales by county and by town or postal district, and show the median (the middle sale price), which is far more honest than an average when a few very large sales would otherwise distort the picture. Trend charts use the median for each year. Individual sales are shown exactly as filed, tidied only for capitalisation.

What SoldPrice is not

SoldPrice is an information service. It is not a valuation, a survey, or financial advice, and past sale prices are not a guarantee of any future price. For a valuation of a specific property, we can connect you with a local estate agent, free and with no obligation.

Who runs it

SoldPrice is an independent project of ABL Media Group, an Irish media and data business. Data is refreshed regularly from the public register. Questions or corrections: use the valuation form and mention it in your message.
